MakerDAO Founder Surprised: Praises for This Altcoin!

According to the co-founder, MakerDAO needs to use Solana’s code to create the new Blockchain. In this context, co-founder Rune Christensen used laudatory expressions for the altcoin project. However, some community members have already started to oppose the idea.

Maker Founder: Let’s use the codebase of this altcoin project!

MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen said Friday that the platform’s future native blockchain should be built using the codebase that underlies Solana (SOL), a network designed to deliver high-speed performance. In a governance forum post, he noted that the “technical quality” of the codebase, “resilience through the FTX explosion” and already functioning examples make Solana “the most promising codebase to explore further”. He also referred to Cosmos as his other “main competitor”.

MakerDAO occupies the position of the largest decentralized finance lender. It is also the issuer of the $5 billion DAI stablecoin. It is currently undergoing a major, multi-year overhaul called Endgame, which includes splitting the project into smaller, independent assets (SubDAOs) with their own tokens and revamping the management token MKR and stablecoin DAI.

Co-founder of Solana Labs: Speechless!

Rune Christensen wrote in her post that the final stage of the plan will be to connect all the SubDAOs. He also announced that a private Blockchain under the codename NewChain will be rolled out for now, to make the altcoin ecosystem more resilient to management attacks and technical failures. Christensen noted that NewChain is “a big long-term project. Also, it will probably take at least 3 years,” he said.

cryptocoin.com As you can follow from FTX’s collapse, Solana was badly injured. Because he was one of the biggest supporters and investors of the altcoin project of FTX former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Therefore, Maker’s offer will be a symbolic win for the Solana ecosystem. Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs, was not indifferent to Christensen’s comments. “Honestly, I was speechless,” wrote Yakovenko on account X. Also, “The more code we reuse across all ecosystems, the faster everything grows.” said.

Some community members did not take kindly to the suggestion!

However, some altcoin community members have requested more information about Christensen’s research. Or they went against Christensen’s idea by offering other solutions. In this context, Hasu, a well-known crypto researcher, said, “Are Solana and Cosmos the only options? How about an EVM-based recovery?” gave the answer.
